Calming the Rachel.

Hey you! And you! And you over there!!

I hope things have been stupendous with you!  Things have been a bit on the crazy side for me - as usual.  Oh well.  C'est la vie, non?

So, I hope you guys aren't getting sick of my lists yet.  They appear to be one of my favorite things to write about.  I hope to get to do some other fun things in the future, but first things have to calm down in my life.  It's hard to be consistent when one is barely home.  There are about 3 hours on Mondays and Thursdays that I have an open window when I am done with work  that I would be able to write.  Only thing is I have to eat supper, run any errands with Husband that may come up, do any cleaning, and RELAX before I go to bed for the night.  So, I squeeze you - my lovely readers - in when I have a bit of extra time.  Hopefully that can change sometime soon! :)

Today, however, I have decided to share s musical post!  I am going to share songs that I just absolutely love with you!  Just like my post with books, these aren't my favorite, since it is really hard to pinpoint my FAVORITES down, these songs are ones that I listen to when I need to calm myself.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.  Who knows, maybe I will do a somewhat regular post of the songs that I have been listening to the most that week. :)

Here we go!

Love Will Take You by Angus and Julia Stone
This is such a beautiful song. I love the horns, the words, everything about it.

Take a look at the lyrics if  you are into lyrics as much as I am.  This song is on a CD that I am ashamed to admit that I own.  Yes, it's on the Breaking Dawn soundtrack.  Don't judge me.  I just like the music.  And NO it's not like when guys say they read Playboy magazine because of the "articles."  It's so calming and I like to listen to it when I am driving home from work.  It's so peaceful if you skip past the faster tempo songs. I am such a high strung person; I really need calming music to decompress when driving home.  Also, with the pretty scenery on the highway I drive on, it seems absolutely perfect!

Let It Be Me by Ray LaMontagne
This song.  Oh my goodness, this song.  This song is another that instantly calms me down.  I love this man's voice.  For some reason, there is just a soothing quality to it for me.  It may not be for everybody, but give a read to these lyrics.  What person wouldn't want a significant other to sing or say that to them?  It always makes me think of Husband, because I am super spoiled and landed myself a pretty amazing guy.  I have amazing friends that help me when I get really pissed off.  I'm looking at you here, Lady S and Lady A!  :)  They totally rock at making me laugh when I really need it and have promised me that they'd help me hide the bodies. You know, like in that one song (DISCLAIMER: I, Lady A, nor Lady S have ever murdered anyone and then hid the bodies).  But, there are just some things that will just need that special hug or sweet words from Husband to fix.  *I apologize for mushiness, but I am still a newlywed, it's expected.*

Be My Honeypie by the Weepies (You will see these on A LOT of their songs on my lists. They are my FAVORITE band)
This song is so sweet.  I think that everyone should see the music video at least once.  The swing dancers get a tad annoying after awhile, but I LOVE that they include REAL couples of all ages, sizes, colors and sexes.  Well, couples that look like the ones you see out on the street anyway, not people who look like models.  The fact that they include same sex couples is just one more reason they are awesome.  Not enough people understand that same sex couples are just like the hetero ones, just with different parts.  I just adore this band.  The singer-guitarists are husband and wife and they are just freaking adorable.  I was lucky enough to see them in concert a year or two ago, and they blew me away.  They sounded exactly the same as they do on their cds!  There's nothing worse than having a favorite band and discovering that they are actually HORRIBLE in person.  :(  But anyways, have a looksie at the lyrics.  Aren't they just so sweet?

Thousand Years by Christina Perri IGNORE THE TWILIGHT SCENES!!
Isn't it PRETTTTYYY????  I really don't understand why I love this song as much as I do.  It's just so damn pretty.  The lyrics make me think of an epic romantic fairy tale.  Sigh...

Sleeping At Last by Turning Pages
This is once again a song from the Breaking Dawn soundtrack, but it's a really lovely song.  Here are some lyrics if you like to read along while the song is going on because, you know, you're a total weirdo like me and like to do that.

Sunset Soon Forgotten by Iron and Wine
...Or just about any other song from this guy.  I think this might be my second favorite band.  I love a lot of the stuff he does.  Some of the stuff he does is more upbeat, but I love that there aren't any super harsh transitions when you listen to one of his albums.  The lyrics are a bit on the strange side, but that's okay with me.  Sometimes, it's nice to just kind of...flow with the music. I am sure that to Samuel Beam, these lyrics might have some deep meaning, but to me they just don't make very much sense.

Prepare yourself now for some awesome instrumental music, if you aren't a fan.  I really don't understand how people CAN'T like it, but to each their own.  I guess.  Here are some of my favorites!

The Last Man by Clint Mansell
This song has it all, if you ask me.  It's beautiful and haunting all at the same time.  Last year in my dance class, this is one of the songs we would listen to while stretching.  It's a song from the movie The Fountain. I have yet to see the whole movie, but that is something I am planning on changing this very weekend!  Yay for movie time!

If you like instrumental versions of your favorite songs, then you will love this band, The Vitamin String Quartet.  If you go to that website, prepare yourself for Adele to be played.  I am personally a fan, but am getting to the point where I am getting a TAD sick of her.  At least the songs that I keep hearing over and over and over on the radio, anyway.  I know of a few people who for whatever reason, just CANNOT stand her.  Anyway, I like quite a few of their songs (they have A LOT), but Husband and I used this song for our wedding party's walk down the aisle.  It gives me the chills each time that I listen to it. I can still picture everyone walking down with the sun shining through the trees.  I can remember exactly how nervous I was that I would trip down the stairs and knock my dad and step-dad over, how freaking excited I was to FINALLY become Mrs. Husband, and how hard I was struggling not to cry or burst into my snorting laughter when I noticed that my niece, K, was carrying the flower girl basket backwards, so the feathery doodad was against her instead of visible to everybody.  I can remember every emotion and every thought that was running through my head while I listen to that song.  One little song can invoke so many different parts of a memory from all of the senses.  What a cool idea for another blog post!  Too bad I don't have a ton more readers, because I would love to read all the comments made on THAT post!  Or this one too!  Feel free to share if you have any good tunes you listen to when you need to calm down.  :)

Seriously, if you are getting married anytime soon and need a good processional/recessional song check these guys out.  They have a huge variety of stuff, from Dr. Dre to Elton John.

Okay, since I am feeling super sappy now, I will share with you one last song that means quite a bit to me.  It's not an instrumental, so I guess I only had two songs.  Oops.  Sorry readers.  My bad.  I will try and do another post ASAP to make up for it.  This last song is the song that I danced to with Husband as our first dance.

Gotta Have You by The Weepies
Here are the lyrics!  Enjoy!

Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high. Take a look, it's in a book!

Greetings friends!
I have decided to today that I will share with you a list of some of my (as of right this moment) favorite books! I have always been a huge reader. By huge reader, I mean I got into trouble with my parents because I was reading TOO much. I would try to do most things one handed with my face in a book of some kind. I wish I could say I read really powerful books, but that's not the case. Although, I did love the Beatrix Potter books when I was young. I was REALLY into Goosebumps and the Baby Sitters Club books. Both the Little Sister series and the original! I was SUPER happy when all of the straight to video movies came out! I am pretty sure I have seen them ALL. Yes, that includes the big one that came out in the theaters. Have any of you seen it? Let's watch the trailer together for some fun nostalgia! Wasn't that fun?! Don't mock. You know you want to watch the entire movie. I won't tell if you do. (I kinda want to too!)
Anyways! Here are ten of my favorite books/series! Enjoy!!

10. The Landry Series by V.C. Andrews
This series includes the books Ruby, Pearl in the Mist, All That Glitters, and Tarnished Gold. I know, I know. So cheesy, right? But I have read and reread this series SO many times. I don't want to give too many things away by describing it myself, but why don't you have a looksie for yourself? To be honest, I don't really know why I love this particular series so much. The only thing I can think of is that I have read it SO many times that it's basically just a comfort thing now.

9. Study Series by Maria V. Snyder
Oh my goodness. This was a  really intense trilogy to read. I just found out there was a fourth book for online reading only too. Hmm.. I just went and added that to my wishlist on amazon. :) I also found out that it has a spinoff trilogy which I am also going to be adding to my wish list! Whoo hoo!! To be honest, it has been awhile since I have read the books, so I am not the best source for a description. Since I am such a nice friend, I will do all the googling magic for you. Poison Study is described here, Magic Study is described here, and Fire Study is described here. I hope I get them soon. I would love to reread them soon. Even though I have about a billion other books to read on my kindle first....

8. The Blue is for Nightmares series by Laurie Stolarz
This series includes the books Blue is for Nightmares, White is for Magic, Silver is for Secrets, and Red is for Remembrance. Another one that I haven't reread for a very long time, but I just loved it. I remember it being another really intense series as well! Wanna know what it's about? Okay!

7. The Home for Broken Hearts by Rowan Coleman
Oh my goodness. This book was an incredibly moving one. Here is a description. I know, I know, it's on an amazon page, but that's the best googling magic I could do for the book. I have only read this one once, but since I can't remember if this is one that I own and have lost (shocking) or if it was a library book. But, if you come across it, read it. If I read it only once and it has stuck with me, you know it was an amazing book!

6. The Color Purple by Alice Walker
You may have seen the movie, but the book is even more breathtaking. It's one of those kinds of books that I think everyone should read at least once. Here is a description. I first saw the movie and it was actually one of my favorites before I even read the book. Now that I have read the book, I would love to watch the movie again.

5. Not Without My Daughter by Betty Mahmoody
Yet again, another book that I read after watching the movie. This book was just incredible. I remember I would get so enraged while reading this book. It really opened my eyes that I am a very lucky woman. Check it out if you are a man or a woman. Seriously. I would love to give a copy of this book to that snotty teenage girl who constantly whines that her parents are assholes and are so "controlling". Bleck.

4. The Millennium series by Stieg Larsson
This series is really only a trilogy which includes the books The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Which makes me sad. Very sad. The author died shortly after (I believe) the third book was published. Such incredible books. The first half of the first book was a tad boring and got REALLY long winded, but if you could get through that, you were rewarded through out the rest of the book and for the next two books. If you went and saw the Amercanized version in the theaters, good for you!  I went on Christmas day with Husband, Husband's mom, and sister. Good lord, that was an intense movie!!! If you haven't and have nettyflix, the original versions are on there. I have yet to watch them since I haven't gotten a chance to, so I can't say if they are any good or not. I think they may be in Swedish though, so you may have to do some reading.

3.The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
Yes, it is the books about a boy and his dragon. His really AWESOME dragon named Saphira. If you have only seen the movie and have not read the books, don't say anything. That movie was NO WHERE near as good as the books. I am currently halfway through the third book of this series and am looking forward to reading the newest and last book. The books included in this series are Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr (How nerdy am I that I didn't have to look it up to know how to spell that?), and Inheritance. I won't give you a description of these books since I am sure you have all heard of these books and know what they are about. If you don't, you can go ahead and picture me with my arms crossed, shaking my head, wagging my finger at you, and me saying "Tsk, Tsk, Tsk."

2. The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris
You may also know them as the Sookie Stackhouse novels... You know, the ones that inspired the tv series, True Blood? No? Here is a little bit of information on them. Sigh. They remind me of another series, which I like a bit more, but that's for another post of my favorite books... I know, the whole vampire thing is over played, but these books are awesome! I liked reading the books that I know you are thinking about, but they are definitely not one of my favorites. In fact, I don't even want to put up a link to any of them for fear of having to google it.

1. Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
I am not even going to explain why. I will just assume that you are like me, have already read all the books, and love them. Am I alone in wanting my very own house elf? That would be awesome. He or she would have one hell of a time with the cat though. I don't think they would get along very well.

So, there you have it. Some of my favorite books. I won't call them my top ten because I will have remembered other books that I like more than some of these later on. Having to edit is a pain in the butt too. But hey! I figured out how to insert links so that looks a bit nicer, right? Aren't you proud? :) Well friends, I think that is all for now.
Have a wonderful night!!

P.S. Can anyone tell me where the title is from WITHOUT looking it up? :)

Hmm...

Howdy friends!
I hope things have been going well with you all! It has been just plain nuts with my schedule, and I am looking forward to a weekend of not doing a whole lot. Yay! I think I will work on my orange and pink blanket and hopefully get quite a bit done. I am getting to the point where I am just getting bored with it. Does that happen with anyone else? I hope it's not just me! I said I was going to crochet a bunch of blocks up and then sew them all together, right? Well, that didn't pan out. No matter WHAT I did, the damn things just WOULD NOT match up in size! I counted each stitch and every row, made sure I wasn't crocheting too tight or too loose. I wasted SO much yarn just trying to get the blocks to be the same sizes. Hrmph... So, I just went with the same old stripey goodness. I have to say it's turning out pretty cute! Wanna see? Okay! (Hold on. Let me take a picture of it real quick.)
Here you go!
Isn't it cute?! I know, it seems kind of small, but I compared it with a friend's baby blanket, and it was the same width. I just love the colors together, it's so bright and cheerful! I just can't wait to be done with it. I think the next time I try to do blocks for a blanket, I try knitting them. I hope that will work to get a more uniform size... Anyways, I can't remember if I told you in the last post, but I am using a stitch called the Tunisian cross stitch. It's such a pretty stitch, and it's fairly easy to do! It can get a tad tedious if you are doing a project of this size and bigger, so if you are going to do a project in this stitch, keep that in mind. :)

I also mentioned that I was going to belly dance garage sale a few weekends ago. It was GREAT!! There were SO many great things and for REALLY good prices! I REALLY tried getting pictures of the items I got there, but it's kind of hard to take a good picture of a pair of insane harem pants and a huge skirt if you don't have a mannequin nor a very good spot in the house to take a self portrait picture of me IN them. Sigh.
But, I can describe them to you! The black (of course) harem pants that I got are nice and baggy and have these SUPER cool ruffle type things on the sides. The ruffles are fairly long, so they kind of make it look like I have fins floating on the sides of my legs. They look so pretty and fluttery when I am doing spins. I also picked up this really beautiful black and silver skirt. It's kind of see through, so I have to wear some kind of pants/skirt underneath them, but I don't have a problem with that. I love the layered look when it comes to dance. It just looks so cool to me!
I also got a cute little blue and white flowered shawl. It has fringe around the edges and is a triangle shaped. It is also missing somewhere in my house. I swear, there is a goblin that lives in my house and it likes to steal random stuff and hide them in the dumbest places. There have been several items that belong to either Husband or me that have just up and disappeared. Several deep cleanings of the house haven't made them appear. We don't have very many people to our place since it's so tiny, so we know that they weren't borrowed out or taken. Damn goblin. AHEM... Sorry. I can't forget to mention the beautiful head piece that I got there as well.... Wanna see it? OKAY!!
Sorry that it's not the BEST picture. I took it in my closet, and there isn't very much space to take great pictures. This piece is HUGE!! I think I need to put something on the peacock feather part since it is looking a bit... loved. I was thinking that a big cameo brooch might look really neat.
Maybe something like this?

Or this?

Or I could go another direction and maybe buy some kind of other jewelry and glue it on there too. Hmm.. I hope you folks don't mind if I just bounce a few ideas off of you...
What about something like this?

Or how about this one?

One more...
Major kudos to any of those who know what this is from! It makes me pretty nerdy for wanting to put this on there though, if that's any kind of clue.
I probably wouldn't be able to afford to pay that much for that second to last one, but a girl can dream, right? Maybe I will go on a search soon to my local crafty stores and look around to see if I can't find something neat to put on it. Once I do, I will make sure to post a picture of it again!

Oh, one more thing before I end my post. It has been a VERY long week, and Husband decided to give me my Valentine's day present early to cheer me up. I am BEYOND excited to wear it! Why don't you take a look?
http://www.bluevelvetvintage.com/images/D/011-16.jpg
It's that EXACT dress!! He got it from this store:
http://www.bettiepageclothing.com/
Go and look. Trust me. If you are a girl, you will want just about EVERY SINGLE ITEM ON THAT WEBSITE. :) See why I am excited? This is my third dress from that store. My first one I wore to my wedding rehearsal, and I felt like the cutest girl ever in it.

See? That's me and my Mommy. Ain't she cute?! I love how happy we look here!
                                              (Photo taken by StudioMona)
I have a third dress that I bought for like 12 bucks too, but have never gotten a chance to wear it. It doesn't fit me at the moment, and needs to be shortened since I really CANNOT wear heels. But, I am aiming to fit back into it soon!
Well, that's all for now! I am really sorry about being so slow with my updates. I should really just set aside times a few days a week and post about whatever shennanigans I am getting myself into. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Goodnight friends!

Bad Little Blogger.

Pryvet! (That's Russian for hello)
Oy. I am sorry friends that I have been such a bad little blogger. Busy times and laziness are what has happened. :( I hope you'll all forgive me. So, I know that I keep saying that I will share different things with you, but it seems that it gets to a point where it kind of becomes too late to share said things. I believe I have crossed that line. Whoops. My bad. I promise to try and become a much better blogger!
I hope things have been going well in all of your varied lives. Things have been pretty good in mine. I started my  yoga class at the Y this week. It's pretty fun, but I was sorely disappointed in myself when I discovered just how much of my flexibility I have lost in the last few years. Also, that I have the upper body strength of a... um... Well, something that has no upper body strength. I was really shocked to notice that my arms were TREMBLING after doing a few different poses that got us into downward dog. What a lame-o. Maybe it was just because I was one of the youngest people in the class by about twenty years... I hope to improve on that.
I really should start going downstairs and start working out on some of the fancy machines that my local Y has. However, I haven't quite figured out how to get into that room... I also am really self-conscious about attempting to use these machines when I am by myself. Most of them I have no clue on how they are used properly and the time that I am usually at the Y is in the early morning. You know, when the fitness addicts are all pounding away on the treadmills and stairmasters. I'd feel like they were mocking me in their spandex-y outfits and thinking "Aww... Look at that delightful chubby girl. She hasn't a clue what in the hell she is doing. How cute." I am also terrified that some stranger would try to help me and tell me that I was doing it wrong. That would just make an already awkward situation even more embarrassing. Plus, I am such a clumsy person that there has been more than a few times that I have hurt myself on a treadmill. Yep. I'm the girl who has tripped while it's going and goes flying off. More than once. All in all, I am a very entertaining person to watch while I work out. Which, makes me a little nervous to do it in front of a roomful of complete strangers. Sigh.
Anyways! Sorry for the random little rant. I warned you that I have a tendency to ramble... I also have been working on a few new projects. I started working on a scarf for Husband. I learned how to do a Tunsian cross stitch and he liked it so much he asked me to make him a new scarf. It should be nice and warm, and I am so proud that I am FINALLY learning how to do different kinds of stitches SUCCESSFULLY. I learned how to do the stitch from this blog:
http://crochetingthedayaway.blogspot.com/2011/10/tunisian-crochet-tunisian-crossed.html

See? Nice and easy directions that are simple to understand and there are PICTURES that show you how things are supposed to look! I love it. I am also working on a baby blanket for a friend of mine who I don't get to see very often, so I hope she likes it! I am going to be doing blocks and then sewing them together once I finish them up. I picked out two really fun bright colors that I think are going to be just darling together. Would you like to see? Okay!
http://www.caron.com/color_cards/cc_simplysoft.html
I am using the white, Watermelon, and Melon colors. Aren't they pretty?! They're so soft too. I have used this yarn before to make another blanket for another friend's baby, and it was just so cuddly that I am sure her little boy loves it. I believe that I used the Pagoda, Pistachio, and white on that one. I just love the colors that this brand has. So beautiful. I think using some of their Party line to make a blanket would be really fun!  Or a scarf. Or a shawl. Or a hat. Or some legwarmers. Or some armwarmers. Anything really would be neat. Also, I have not heard about the Sheep(Ish) line yet. I will have to try and find some. Do some exploring on the website. They have some adorable patterns on it. Check out this super cute blanket I found on there!
http://www.caron.com/images/yarn_images/simply_soft/ss_proj/SS31_kitty_throw_lg.jpg
Too  bad that I am not that experienced yet... Someday though! Well, I well try to take pictures as I go so you can see my progress on this project. I think that if it works out, I will make another for someone else that I know. I am pretty sure she is having a little boy, so it will be fun to go back and pick out different colors again! I am thinking that maybe Limelight, Lemon, and maybe an off white would be really cute. I would love to use the Blue Mint, Dark Country Blue, and Ocean. I just can't remember for sure if it's a boy, and I don't want any awkwardness over giving her the wrong colors... But, I am sure there will be another friend or acquaintance who will be having a boy sooner or later, so I guess I could do both! Oh, how exciting! Yay for projects!! Does anyone else get this nerdily excited about knitting or crocheting?
Well friends, I think that might be all for now. It's going to be a fairly busy weekend. Tomorrow night, Husband and I have my niece, Dimples, overnight.  We'll be taking her to supper at Baker's Square and she'll be using her Target gift card and possibly taking her to this amazing frozen yogurt shop. Mmmm... Frozen yogurt... Drool...
AHEM. Sorry. Sunday I will be going to Apple Valley for a belly dance garage sale! I am super excited!! I will be riding with a few other girls who are in the belly dance scene ( two of them are actually in the local troupe!) so, that will be a very interesting day! Whoo hoo! I will make sure to post pictures of any goodies I find.
Well, I am off to take a bubble bath. I have been feeling all yucky for a good chunk of the day. I learned a very valuable lesson today though. Never eat beef jerky from a vending machine. No matter how good it sounds. I know that stuff is supposed to last forever, but I am blaming it for my sickness.

Bloggy addiction

Sanibonani! I looked that up and it means hello in Zulu in case you were wondering. I got really bored in thinking of different ways to say hello to you...

Anyways. I had a bit of extra time and I thought I would share some of my favorite blogs that I have been reading. Some I just started today and have gotten quite a kick out of them, and others I have been reading for a few weeks. I hope that I can continue reading these blogs since there have been a few that I have gotten kind of frustrated with since it became pretty commercially for lack of a better word. I am not quite sure how to link to other people's blogs just yet, so be patient with me while I am learning. :)

Here are the two crocheting blogs that I have been reading:

I love the way this woman writes. I was able to learn the tunisian crochet stitches very easily. I have been working on a scarf the last two days and it seems like it will be super warm. I just hope the gal I give it to will like it!
This gal doesn't just do crocheting, she has an obsession with nail polish that beats mine. That's not an easy task, I might add. She also has her own etsy shop, which has the cutest things in it!
This blog is the COOLEST! It has pictures of projects that others have completed and usually links up to either their blog or other various websites. It's amazing all the beautiful pieces that are on there!
Check 'em out! I could have sworn that I had more that I read, but who knows where they disappeared to. Or maybe my memory is just getting that bad... Sigh.

Now for some belly dancing blogs!

I have only read a few of her posts, but I already like her writing style!

I loved the videos that were on here, and it was truly fascinating to hear more of the 'behind the scenes' talk that she shares on her blog.

Okay, these ones I haven't gotten to reading yet, but I will post them and you can have a looksie-loo and tell me what you think. :)

Now, as for baking blogs, these are the ones that I have enjoyed reading!

Here are a few random ones that I have come across that I just love reading!
I just found this one a few minutes ago from my friend Windy. I have only read a few posts, and I love it. Candy?! I can't resist that...
This next one is actually done by someone I know. She's super cute, can rock out pink hair, and is a VERY talented crocheter! Check her out, you'll love her.

Oh my goodness. This one cracks me up completely every time I read it. Most of them are true and I have had the unpleasant experience of living just about every single of them. If you have ever wished that you had curly hair, or have curly hair, read these and feel better.
Well, that's about it. I am getting super tired and I start a yoga class tomorrow morning while I am at my morning job! Whoo hoo!!! I also have dance class tomorrow as well! Double whoo hoo!
Hambani kahle! (It means 'go well' in Zulu, just thought I would share)

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCKKKKK!!!

Hello friends!
Did you miss me?! Did you miss me?! I’ve missed you. It’s been a CRAZY holiday week/end! I had such fun spending time with my family new and old. We just got back from spending a few days in Wisconsin with Husband’s dad and step-mom. It was an interesting trip since we had some car trouble. Dumb car.
I’ll have to write a post as soon as I get the chance and tell you cats what we all did on our WI adventures. (I found a REALLY cool import store and got a new pretty pink coin belt and fun arm doodads that I might turn into something else!)
It’s going to be such a short post since my left eye is being silly and is still burning like crazy after I took out my contact. Plus, I haven’t seen my kitty since Monday morning, so I am going to get some fluffy cuddles in, watch something on the Nettyflix and enjoy being home. I will try my best to write something on either Sunday or Monday. Husband is playing with his super awesome band on Saturday night, and I have so much stuff to do beforehand. I just figured I would write a super short post to let you know that I am indeed alive and have not abandoned you because I got bored.
Have a beautiful New Years! Stay safe!

Woohoo! Christmas Movies!

Hello friends!
I had a bit of extra time and decided to make a super quick post! Okay, maybe not super quick. But yeah. I decided to do a list of my favorite Christmas movies!! I know, I know, so many people have done this, but I like making lists. Of my favorite stuff. I'm like Oprah. But unlike Oprah, you don't get my favorite things, friends. Maybe you would if I had as much moolah as she does. Anyways... Here's my top five favorite Christmas movies!!

5. Prancer
I absolutely love this movie. I watched it (like every other movie on this list) every Christmas. I am pretty sure that I when I was younger I wished that I would find one of Santa's reindeer like the girl does in the movie. It has it's sad moments, but in the end, everything turns out swell. Here's a trailer of it in case you have no clue what I am talking about.

4. Mickey's Christmas Carol
I am not really sure why I like this version so much. It makes me happy. For some reason. Have a look at the trailer!

3. Home Alone 1 and 2
Shut up. I know, it's terrible and overly cheesy, but I still love it. Every time I hear the theme song, it always makes me think Christmas... It's so pretty. I always want to go for a walk at night while snow is falling and looking at lights when I hear this song. Have a listen. It took me awhile to find the "right version" so I hope someone listens to it! :)

Also, this song. I always think of this movie when I hear this song.

Somehow, the part of Minnesota that I live in has no snow. Again, proof that Ma Nature has lost it. No white Christmas for us, kids!

2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
This movie is freaking hilarious. Last year, I bought Husband the Ultimate Vacation Collection which had this movie, Vegas Vacation, European Vacation, and Vacation. I also found this ornament for Husband for our tree:

Awesome, right?

Ahh... I love all these movies. But this one has to be my all time favorite. It shows how annoying family members can be, and how sometimes having them all under one roof can just be hell. But at times, you just have to laugh, because otherwise you just go insane. Aunt Bethany always cracked me up. I found her character so amusing and still do. And Cousin Eddie. You can't forget that loveable moron.
Here's a few of my favorite scenes with Aunt Bethany.

They're all great...
And my number one favorite Christmas movie is.........................

SCROOGED!!!
I get such a kick out of this movie. It will always make me laugh. Especially the Ghost of Christmas Present.

Just a little taste of how she treats our main character. That bitch be crazy.
This movie may even be one of my all time favorite movies. It's one of those movies that I will put on when I need to be cheered up, no matter the time of the year.
Anyways, I gots to get back to knitting a present. Christmas is only a few days away!! I will try to put up some pictures of our loverly tree soon!
Buh bye!!
